BIOGRAPHY

Maria Giles is an eccentric, passionate, and versatile independent artist of Peruvian-British descent (born and raised in Guildford, UK), and is distinguished by her distinctive sound as a singer-songwriter and producer of alternative pop music. Her compositions are the result of inspired and artistic creativity, originating from her bedroom studio. Drawing inspiration from acclaimed artists like MARINA, Charlie Puth and Dua Lipa over the years, Maria's music reflects a fusion of distinctive styles that captivates her listeners through songs also inspired by characters and stories in video games and film.​

Maria's journey as an artist began at a young age, after featuring her vocals in a selection of Filip Olejka compositions (Fan-Film ‘Spiderman Vengeance’ & Orchestral Silent Night) on another alias. Maria had a passion for writing around subjects of trauma, love, and interests in sci-fi/fantasy games and franchises. From the age of 18, Maria self-published her first Stranger Things-inspired track ‘Monster’ on YouTube & Soundcloud in 2019. Despite facing challenges with CPTSD, Depression and undiagnosed ADHD over the years, Maria persevered and, currently, has released her Debut Single 'Steal Your Emotions', a spooky season track inspired by the game Dead By Daylight, lyrically in the perspective of the 'killers'. She has also recently completed her BA (Hons) Degree at ACM Guildford, and currently working as Coffee Barista during the day, and Music Artist at night.
